who does everyone class as their idols? for example the band who got you into emo music? the band who that saved your life? the band/person you idolise the most...

Well I progressed from Placebo and Green day.I was into more punk/rock :D. I think the first emo band I really listened to was Hawthorne Heights. After a friend recommended it to me :). Ever since then, I've been addicted. Of course Emo is good, but I prefer rock/metal/pop-punk :D

First band to get me into emo music was Thrice, a couple years ago. I admit, ashamedly, that I was more than a bit chavvy then. It's the reason I know every word to every Eminem song. xD But I sort of progressed into more screamo stuff from Thrice. Things like Bullet For My Valentine, underOATH and Atreyu.

i think mine was liknin park although i was more normal then and they didnt turn me compleatly emo that was AFI and my m8s brothers band who are no longer in the emo world as they split up a couple of years ago :(

i used to like Eminem too, it is weird how your music taste can change as you get older... anyone got any bands/singers that they idolise? think the first "emo" bands i got into were the used and ffaf, think it was bands like evenescene (spelling?) limp biskit, motorhead that were the first alternative bands i started listening too.....mainly because i used to watch wwf/wwe all the time :D lol also RHCP were DEF the first main band i LOVED that were alternative...and that hasnt changed :D lol

And the award for "understatement of the year" goes to Vic! *applause* :P My favorite band - of all time or at the moment? Hmm that's a hard one but I'm going to have to say Taking Back Sunday for at the moment. My favorite band ever though has to be Placebo :D As for your idol question, most idols these days seem to be clich but if I'd have to say. It'd have to be either Hayley Williams or WiL Francis :P

Vic: Glad you like both of those bands. You have good taste I see :] Well as for Hayley, I think for someone so young she stands for a lot of females out there. And considering her past and childhood, she's come out on top. :] As for WiL - I think over coming drugs/alcohol abuse is a reason alone! :D I wouldn't like to be kicked out at 15 (my age :P) and have trouble with the law etc. So yeah, he's pretty admirable :D Hairclip Matt: Why would Blink 182 be idols? :P

True, like many other bands. There are a few bands that I don't actually like, but I won't deny that they aren't great musically. I just personally don't like their music, etc :P

i used to quite like blink and my own guy friend has an OBSESSION with tom delonge and yeh they def helped with the alternative scene, id prob say greenday as well for most people....well when they started anyways

Tbh... my first emo band was Hawthorne Heights. I progressed from heavy metal and goth stuff into more emo stuff. I was listening to them in Y6, ahaha, I was still a chav then. I knew every word to every Busted song. And saw them live :S
