Where Are You From? How Many Languages Do You Speak? Jun 21 2008, 10:21 AM

I thought we could have a topic about where you are from, where you live and how many languages you speak? As this is an open forum, people can know several languages and perhaps they could learn others a little? I'm from Norway (North in Europe xD), and I speak Norwegian and English, oh and SOME German ;p Norwegian - English - German examples - Jeg heter Carrie og jeg er seksten gammel. Jeg kommer fra Norge - My name is Carrie and I'm sixteen year old. I come from Norway - Ich Heisse Carrie und ich bin Sechzehn Jahre Alt. Ich komme aus Norwegen

I'm from New Zealand. I only speak English, although I have tried to learn Japanese & Spanish - not successfully though. To add to what you said Mat, yeah I think all native English speakers use bad grammer at some point & part of that is due to us all being in a hurry, but I think a lot of it has to do with culture too - including internet communities :) - & the colloquialisms that we learn from that. Bad spelling I know. Lol!!!

i'm from Sweden.. and i can beside of course talk swedish then i can talk english and spanish and a little bit italian.. but my heritage is Norweigan and Deutsch... and Swedish of course

i dont think you HAVE to be smart.. some people just pick things up easily or by different methods.

if your interested then go for it! everyone can do it, just some people take longer than others what language do you want to learn?

Just make sure you use it in a real world situation. Most people learn languages at school, but never get the chance to actually use it and end up forgetting it.
