I guess in a stereotype people just take a lot of ideas from others and it has gone from there... The 'emo' stereotype is famous for many different funky hair styles though. Oh and straightening is a pain and mine is pretty much straight to start with lol!

Well an "emo" with uber-curly/wavy hair doesn't look right :P It's weird, mind. I wouldn't worry about your hair Vic - you're more goth anyways xD

have many people burnt themselves using straightners? my friend burnt me once using them grrrrr too much effort to have straight hair in my eyes!

I don't think it's too much effort, well my hair is pretty straight anyway.. I have burnt myself, but not badly. Oh and I have left them on all day!

Well my hair Is very curly and I prefer it straight wavey, well until it gets longer anyway. Yes Ive burnt myself so many times because my hair is short but i still straighten it :D I get to hold an inch of hair while i straighten it :S

I think it's a matter of whether or not it fits the person. I mean.. I've seen emo girls with curley hair where I thought 'Wow that's hot' and some where.. not so much. To me it's a based-on-overall appearance thing, but then again, I'm wierd as hell, so.
