hmmm well if its too curly then the first stage is to get some straightners and try straightening it?

just go to the hairdresser and bring some pics of a boy with hair you like to have. Or do your hair on your own. at home.. just like me :D

I do my own as well and it doesn't matter if you mess it up a bit.. However, I'd advise going to a proper hairdressers to start with.

If your hair's too hard to keep straight you should look into chemical straightening. Plus straightening it EVERY time you go out is going to really damage it unless you're using some sort of heat protection. I wouldn't advise doing it yourself, but find a hairdresser that really knows what they're doing and who makes sure they're working for you, not just your money. A lot of hairdressers will just chop off your hair until you've got a boring, normal haircut that takes them no effort at all.

I'd try googling for emo/alternative places near you, thats your best bet for a good emo hair dressers. The only well not just emo but emo hair dressers near me is right in the middle of Afflecks Palace :D which has lots of emo stuff in it :D Or just go to your usual bob standard hair dressers and take in a picture of someone who you'd like your hair like. Mind you lots of good emo haircuts are self cut. Then again lots of them go wrong, -cough eg my hair. yeah i messed my hair up ;[ yet i still keep cutting it myself, i really dont trust hair dressers they always make my hair look exactly how it did before I went in >;[ Sorry I'm waffling, anyway good luck with your hair :D

Try and get some recommendations from friends/online for local places that can actually do the sort of style you like. Many will most likely disappoint you sadly.

Yeah chemical straightening really does work although it costs a fair bit (I think it cost me 70) but its not completely permanent!! It has relaxed it enough for me just to use hair straighteners nowadays but I got it cut fairly short recently and found leaving slightly curly got some positive comments from people! So now I don't fuss too much like I used to about getting every strand dead straight!

Ok, yeah, go to a professional hairdresser, with some pics of what you want your hair to look like. Tell her to make it choppy. Straighten it. You could get it chemically straightened, but that's not necessary and costs a ton of money. Now.. the haircut is only half the process though.. One very important thing you need when it comes to good hair (that no one's said yet in the topic) is good hair products. I use shampoo, conditioner, hair wax, hair spray, and shine spray. The wax will accentuate the layers and choppiness of the hair, and the hair spray helps it keep in place. Shampoo and Conditioner are pretty much self explanatory.. The shine spray is just a bonus for me really.. It's actually not completely necessary for your purposes, but it adds a nice shine to the hair and makes it silkier. Though it may be more expensive, you will probably want stylist approved products. Most likely anything they sell at the salon, or a place like Ulta.

Yep good hair products are important and the ability to use them properly. We all know a week or even day after you've had your hair done it can looks crap if you don't put the effort in.

maybe I'm a lil' outside the system...but... My hair is always looking good... Almost everything u have to do is to eat right food, so ur skin, nails and hair will be good. If u r food is crap, even the greatest shampoo won't help... What u eat is what u is. U have to be healthy ... and ur hair will be healthy too. Most ppl forget about it, so they r fuckin' with a shampoo and makin-shiny-ur-ugly-hair-things for nuthin'... XD And don't burn ur hair, if u'll straightening it. Burned hair is rly rly ugly. Get ur hair fuckin' healty enough to be ready for straighten. Try to find out what elements have to be in ur food, and make ur ration better for hair-health. And then go do it all! Straight or curly, colored or not, everything ur want. And... THERE IS NO EMO HAIRCUTS! It is a confusion... XD There is just haircuts that some emo's prefer to have. Ok, in conclusion, u have to straighten ur HEALTHY hair. XD

well if you want to go to the hairdressers, then google a pictue of scene/emo hair and find the picture that display the look you most like.take it to the dresser and tell her/him thats what you want (: then once you have what you  want..you have to keep up with it!straighten it, use great haircare products..i recomend aussie and pantene. those are the american products im not sure if they have those in other countries (:. doing it yourself isnt that hard.. but i recomend starting with cutting only a little at first in case you mess up.then sowly cut some more..really amazing "emo" hair is usually done with a razor.so you might wanna know what you doing before attempting to go haircutting happy (: hope i helped!

Razors produce the beautiful choppy look many emo's have.
