simply put... which is your favorite? what's your favorite band from this genre? ill start

i rly dont know but id have to go with screamo. its a hard decision......

To answer the question.. i must say.... screamo pumps me up when i need to i love to hear the emotion in the screams .. emo is nice as well nice sweet melody and soothing lyrics.. I'd have to say both are good, not really sure what to class exactly as screamo but bands like Alesana, Scary Kids Scaring Kids,Hawthorne Heights are the ones i call "post hardcore" ( screamo- screaming singing?) Emo now is anything else really,that does not involve screaming i put Mayday Parade, All time low, The Academy is , Boys like girls etc

ill go for both.. beacause i listen to music depending on what mood im in. screamo is great though..

i gotta disagree with the hawthorne heights comment. they arent screamo. listen to the last album they put out. no screams at all. im sry to say but i hate mayday parade guys... sry! xD

Hawthorne Heights can never be classed at screamo in my opinion. Great band though.

^ ah kk, newer album yes, not screamo ^^ .. wasn't Cassey the one who did the screaming? since he is gone( R.I.P Cassey ), i do not think anyone else screams. ah well all in all great band! What is wrong with Mayday parade? admittedly i do not listen to them often, but they have their moments.

Just because an emo(ish) band has some screaming it doesn't always mean it can be classed as screamo. It's not even worth bothering classing bands as screamo these days as it's so confusing.
