In need of friends lol Mar 08 2009, 12:10 PM

Hello, I am Amy and am new here...

Anywho! I need some advice; I don't have many m8s, the m8s I do have are a lot older and married with kids or are at university quite far away from me! I feel SOOO lonely! I'm a really quiet person and most people don't understand me for some reason - I reckon it is cos I have this lifestyle - none of my work "friends" have the same taste in music I do, or same fashion sense, and sadly I think new people pre-judge me a lot... I've never had a group of friends I can relate too.

How exactly do you go about making new friends, if you are shy and quiet? I thought I would come on here and see where it gets me :-) x

Let's see, my undying fear of talking to people keeps me locked inside my room. Though my therapist insists me on going out and play with my neighbors. Wtf? You're on the same boat as me lol. All or rather some of my friends already have their lives away from home and I'm stuck in school fighting off the demons. If you need a friend, you can always talk to me :)

Try looking for local people on this site and other social networking sites and just get to know them and hopefully meet up.

A great social networking site based purely on musical interests is Lastfm

You seem to be a great young woman from what I read here (I know it's v. little) but you should just talk to ppl online then try ppl inn person, it very hard but makes things easier. I don't talk that much and have very few friends and I get paranoid and can't trust them so it's hard. If you want a friend online (maybe one day meet) you can always add me hun, talk about anything any time.

I just talk shit with people.. usually completely random but I get told I am easy to talk to so I guess I have a bit of an advantage when it comes to friends.. If you wanna chat, message me with your msn or something.. :)

wellcome to my world...

i'm also really shy and quiet, and people do not like the way i dress myself, the kind of music that i like...

i really don't know what to do...i try to meet new people but they just go away and leave me alone...

my social life is a hell... and my friends are never there for me...NEVER

It really can be hard to make friends especially when you can be considered as 'different'. There are lots of social networking sites out there that you can probably find people local to you and meet up.

heyy im new to the emo/scene world but im very load n talkative hehe!!

i admit i talk nothing most of the time but i love having a laugh and quite good att making new friends so if u need someone to talk to ill lisen and thats a promis lol
