I know a lot of people into the emo scene today haven't heard how emo and screamo use to sound many years ago. I really recommend you check out some old bands like Moss Icon, Rites of Spring and Saetia. Read more on our Emo Music page.

hmm i do not really listen to the older Old Emo/ Screamo Bands really but Fugazi is the band that got me listening to some of the other older ones, but still i would not have even listened to Fugazi if i didn't know about Billy talent As for the others like Rites of Spring , Moss icon, and probably a few others, i discovered those while researching the origins of emo music. well i really only like Fugazi, as they Billy Talent look up to them or something like that, Sunny Day Real Estate is good as well

gtfo. the assistant, meleeh, orchid ect ect is what we refer to "old" screamo/emo music, for real. WANNA BET ABOUT IT? BITCH. Or maybe you want me to write more bands (: <3 oh yeah, saetia is nice aswell. 37 seconds before happiness too.

^ write more lol :D most of those bands only play at concerts and stuff.. least to the best of my knowledge :)... a lot of people argue some of them to be punk ... i don't know much about those bands .just saying what people say.. they aren't bad though :D

olol listen to rites of spring and you'll find out that it's quite similar to punk actully. I think it was in the late 80's or early 90's that emo progressed to a more hardcore like sound and feeling. Umm..more bands.. Gray matter, Embrace, Sunny day real estate, orchid, Ampere, (One of my favorites), Suis la lune (also awesome), jerome's dream ect ect ect ect olol.. I'm pretty sure I've posted links to songs and stuff before.

I'm in love with the classic screamo bands like Saetia and Circle Takes the Square. I enjoy the musical complexity of those bands.

FuckingPoseurs I agree there are some posers, but not everyone is. Even most old screamo bands have a Myspace so check out their music on there if your interested.
