erm this is gonna be fastly riten sorry.. but today i was speeking to a friend lets say... "Jane" who said have you heard from another friend.. "Ellen". of mine. I hadn't. Turned out this "Ellen" had told someone else that she hadn't been around cos she had been diagnosed with bipolar... which ironicaly, i have. Out of curiosty i text "ellen" asking how she was. she said she had and appendix infection. Im really confused? I know that it would take longer than 2 visits to a doctor to find out you had bipolar... and she does make shit up a hell of alot. I don't know what to do?! Im annoyed and i thought here would be the safest place to ask what to do instead of spreading this around and causing trouble in my friends can you help?

Straight out ask her if she has been diagnosed with bipoloar. If so tell her your there to help if she needs it. Strange thing to lie about if she is.

i'm gonna sound totally awkward now but i kinda just realised like a while ago that yeh her parents are splitting up and i know she's not taken that too well and i dunno maybe she just wants the attention or help or whatever but i dunno what to say because i wasent the most parented child... if that make sense? :S eugh i hate being awkward... sorry i just don't want to make anything worse cos i care about her..

Your right to tread carefully then. Just try and be there for her for now even if you doubt her honesty. So many people lie if they feel weak/vulnerable/need attention.

If you just chat more often it may just come out in a convo. You just need to try and be there for her and you'll probably see yourself. Just be a good friend is my advice I guess.

ok i asked her, she said no. i told her she could tell me if she had i'd be there for her and that she still said no. so i dunno :\
