Self Harm Awareness Day Dec 06 2009, 07:01 AM

Hey, I'm sure everyone here has heard of self-harm and the effects it can have on a sufferers life as well as their family and friends. As a few of you know I have been a bit proactive in the fight of self-harm being admitted to hospital myself, talking to the BBC and setting up a series of awareness websites. In my latest try to bring awareness to people about self-harm/injury/mutilation, what ever you want to call it, I have sent a petition to 10 Downing Street for approval to make March 1st Self-Harm Awareness Day, if it gets approved I just want to know if you would actually like to sign the petition. March the first was chosen because the American Government has itself been petitioned to make this day a Self-Harm Awareness Day, we hope it becomes an international day bringing self-harm into perspective and making it less of a taboo subject. You can share the shorter URL http://www.selfharmpetition.net.tc/ with your friends rather than sending them a long link. Please sign and potentially change the UK and possibly the world by making March 1st (St.Davids day) Self-Harm Awareness Day informing people of self-harm and helping educate the world.

The petition site requires a donation to add your name so I didn't add mine. Not that I'm tight, but paying to sign a petition kind of defeats the purpose.
