I need help with my hair Jul 22 2010, 05:45 PM

I'm getting my haircut in a week and I want it to be really choppy but long at the same time. In fact, i want it to be like Andy Sixx's hair used to be (when it was shorter and before the On Leather Wings and Sacred Ceremony tours). My hair at the moment is long but quite thin at the sides cuz the hairdresser fucked it up. I know what pics to take with me but i don't know what to ask them when i'm there and how to direct them in the right way. If anyone could offer any suggestions or help that would be great. Thanks

I’m not sure if this is going to help any but I’ll give it a go. I think it’s great that you have pictures to take! What I usually do when I go to get my hair cut is I have several pictures of the general idea of what I want. Then I sit down with my hair lady and say “I like this here but I want this shorter” or something like that. I point out what I do like about the photos and what I want different since you don’t want your hair exactly like someone else’s anyway. I also point out things I’m concerned about like if my hair might not be longer enough in a certain area or if my texture won’t be right. Then we talk it out and figure out what my hair will do best and then as always she does a fantastic job. Now I’m super lucky to have who I do to cut my hair because she’s amazing at listening and at cutting it. I don’t know what the people are like who cut yours but you might just want to be very specific and maybe even mark certain areas of the pictures that you want done exactly. I hope it turns out the way you want.

A good hair stylist will be able to sort your hair from a few pictures alone. Some will make a total cock up... The best thing is to go to someone that has been recommended for the sort of style you want (if possible).

Thanks. Both of you. Yh the hairdresser REALLY messed it up at the sides and they're still too thin for my liking. I have good pics of the style i want and what i'm gonna ask is to keep the length at the back and fringe but make it choppy and layered at the top. The question is will they understand what i want tho. Thanks again, u've really helped out alot :)

I can't say if they will understand for sure. I have been to many places and some have been great and others struggled.
