so most of you probably dont care but i live in the us and today my social studies teacher made a comment that in the UK there is better healthcare..is this true? i mean it isnt very hard to have better health care than the US but how good is it in the UK?

i dont know about the UK but aus has way better healthcare, we have public healthcare support in two ways, one thru centrelink and other through medicare, both are kinda intertwinded but its free, it covers basic hospital and doctor visits and stuff u get big discounts and refunds. There is also private healthcover which is better than the free stuff but i mean every citizen can visit a doctor or a hospital for a small small amount of money which is great.

She was prolly just on about how it's "Free". When you go to a hospital or health centre or any NHS ( national health[care] service) you don't have to pay for any treatment while you're there, however, free healthcare cost's money (:O), So it goes into our taxes. :(

yep its fucking great free comdoms any time (no i dont get mine for there unless i disposse of them in the teachers bags at shcool ya wonna c there faces's hehehe i love life)free fag plastic things the nhs even pay for u 2 go to uni if u wont to work for them in later life.

We have free health care in sweden until u r 20 years old then it will just cost u a small amount of money each time u visit the local doctor or the hospital :] but yeah free condoms too I took almost everytime when I still studied in school and yeah in other places too and yeah I actually have it as an hobby to collect condoms :] I will not tell u how many I have but I have a lot :]

well i wouldnt say the US healthcare is horrible but i dont really care for the way it is set up..like patients get treated nicely and equally for the most part..but as far as technology goes we are behind like the UK..now the healthcare bill has been passed or is in the process of being passed there should be free or a small ammount for visits..the only issue is it is payed back in taxes and alot of people think its not fair that you have to pay for the lowlifes that dont work so they can get a free hospital bill..which i agree with people that it shouldnt be like that but atleast the poorer people can afford it and maybe keep sickness under control

I don't think the health care here is particularly good in my experience, and I live in the same place as Opheliac_x so I dunno. :P

I spent alot of my childhood in hospital and they always were brilliant. Just yesterday I had an operation that went great. From my experiance it's rather good (:

^^ eh i agree with that..when i was in the hospital all the nurses that had to stay with me in my room were really nice..then i wake up the next morning the nurse was treating me like crap..like she woke me up and threw me in a wheelchair and dumped me at the psych unit..and she didnt say anything to me..so i agree that the nurses and doctors are all different
