Any advice for this thing? :( Dec 09 2010, 06:34 AM
Okay, so I guess, I'm obviously a BVB fan, right? By my username here, the first thing that will come up to your mind is I am one of the BVB armies here. And my problem is that, my mom disagrees of this. I mean, she doesn't want Andy, because she thinks Andy looks like an evil or a demon O.o. I don't know what I'll say. Besides, she mentioned this thing "I don't like this kind of people. Maybe in the future you'll also put some lip piercings". So when that thing came out to her mouth, I was shocked and think for awhile like "Oh no! I'm not yet telling to her that I really want to have a lip ring when I grow up. Then yet, she's already reacting like that!" So for me, she will never ever allow me to get what I want, real bad. :( How can I come up to this? If I tell her and convince her that "BVB or Andy Sixx" isn't the type of person she's thinking, I know what she'll tell me after that. She'll disagree. STILL. i don't know :( Please help :( What's better to do. I don't wanna disobey my mom, but she's forcing me to do so. x( I hate it =( Plus! What she doesn't like about Andy is his style. It's kinda scary for her :'( I was really sad about this thing. I thought she'll support me on what I want. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! It's not even a satan thing, but why does she disagree with it! I guess, I GUESS, i will not have some sort of problem to my dad, when it comes to my interest. He supports us in everything we want. Just like my sister, he doesn't want my sister to join cheerleading, but since my sister wants, he agreed with her. My mom is the only problem, I guess.

Hmm, sounds lyka tough predicament, but u should do wht u want.. regardless of wht anyone says.. Unless u know it's dangerous... And tht band u lyk prob isnt gonna change u for the worse. Same with his style... I mean it's art and everyone shud learn to appreciate it and just accept it... Give her tym ta realize the facts and mayb eventually she'll understand...

So many people have these issues at your age. I say just do what you want within reason if your not hurting anyone else. BVB are a great band and there is nothing scary about Andy's style. Some people just don't understand what isn't considered to be 'normal'.

Thanks for those advices guys. :) You made me feel better but yet confused on what she'll react if she still see me idolizing BVB. :-/ Besides, I guess I'm still a kid who needs her, and when I grow up, she'll also realize that she cannot control me on what I really like :) So, still, I will never stop loving this band.

My parents are also the same towards that haha. (high-five for BVB fans!) My only advice is to acknowledge that some parents feel that their societal standing will be lowered if they have someone in the family with the type of association that "non-popular/non-normal" items are usually associated with (in a negative aspect). It's okay if she doesn't like your music, b/c she's not you. If you're listening to it, put headphones on. If she doesn't want you to get a lip piercing, wait till you're 18 and are no longer depending on her money (getting a job and supporting yourself) before you decide to get a transparent one which can be used to hold the hole in place for the initial 3 months). If you want to dress like BVB, go slow. First go shopping (at Macys or something) with her and pick out a nice black jacket or something. give it like 3-4 months and then ask if you can see how you look with black eyeliner. the key thing is to go slow so she can adjust comfortably instead of just /raging. I'm not really sure where im going but good luck : )
