Rising University Fees and EMA Cuts Dec 14 2010, 12:30 PM
I'm sure you have heard about the increased in University fees and cuts to Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). Does this affect any of you and how do you feel about it? It does seem unfair I know, but what do I know hey!!

^ ye, when i heard about it on the news, the first thing that came to mind was my UK friends on soemo! These hard economic times are affecting us all negatively.. In my country people have to finish university in a set amount of time or else they will have to pay for everything! with regards to the dilemma in the UK i don't understand how a minority vote could change the system though.. ( if that's what really happened- that's what someone told me"

In Scotland and Ireland EMA is going to remain, but here in England by the time I start college it will be gone, and my friends who all get it, and rely on it, will be fucked as well. I was at the protest on the 24th in Parliament Street, we were kettled for around 8/9 hours, the idea was to put us off protesting again, but if they are stupid enough to think that were going to just give up then they are even more stupid than is already obvious.

It's totally unfair on families and people who struggle with money, it's not giving everyone a fair chance to do what the want to do..
