Well, what really got me into the whole emo genre I think would have to be back in the days of Hüsker Dü and well, Seigmen isn't really classified as emo, but their lyrics are deep and emotional. The screamo and post-hardcore bit is abit more hard to put my finger on, as I've evolved through different branches of punk, hardcore and metal through the years. But Fugazi, Underoath and 36 Crazyfists has been some of the earlier bands that can be put under post-hardcore.

Rammstein is pretty fun live, indeed. (: If we were to go that far back that what got me into rock and such alikes, I'd have to say Mötley Crüe, Seigmen and various punk bands, my cousin playing me Mötley Crüe when I was a kid was the trigger tho.

I don't often listen to emo/screamo/punk/post-hardcore, but like Matt it was probably Hawthorne Heights :)

Thrice - The Artist In The Ambulance was another defining song for me. That band is so refreshing after listening to some of the crap nowadays!

Ahah, I know I'm not! :) But you look at the bands that are getting kids into this music now, Asking Alexandria and We Came post-hardcore/metalcore stuff, and it's totally different. I found Thrice 5 years ago, when I was 13, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a 13-year-old now that even knows they exist.

Black Veil Brides will be an influential band for some newbies to the emo scene I'm sure!
