Bisexual and Gay relationships <3 Mar 26 2011, 02:24 PM
I'm for Homosexuals and Bisexuals, but A LOT of people in my neighborhood HATE them. Speak your mind. It's not to offend anyone <3 I'm just curious.

Ahh that sucks :/ Though the UK only made partnerships legal 6 years ago, so we're not much better :L but yeahh, keep fighting for it, that's what happened here and we're making progress ^^

America needs time and a good slap to the face. Bush was the one who wanted to start that Project 8(Making marriage and adoption illegal for same sex couples) and that set us WAY back. Now, people are too afraid to even come out of the closet..let alone actually get married to each other. Sad :'(

Same sex couples is fine in my opinion. They can love, lust, and like watever sex they choose. Same sex marriage also seems good. I mean, why shouldnt they be able to have that special bond? Because ignorance is in many peoples mind? Well i say that is just foolish.

You don't have to make a set decision, well ever if you don't want to, but certainly not just yet. It took me 4 years to decide for sure! It can be really confusing though, so if you wanna talk about it, feel free :)

Something that was really sweet happened to me today in regard to my sexuality ^^ Basically, when I told my friends that I was bisexual, there were a couple I didn't tell for certain reasons. One of them was my friend Emma, who I didn't tell because 1. her now ex-boyfriend came out as gay a couple of months before, and 2. We were doing a lot of physical theatre in our theatre exam piece, and not knowing how she'd react, I thought I ought to wait until after our exam. So, our theatre exam was over about 2 weeks ago, so I decided I would tell her, but I couldn't find an appropriate time. However, today, Emma, myself, and another friend of ours, Tiri, were on the train home, when we got onto the subject of sexuality, and Emma started saying how she thought bisexual people were better than most straight or gay people because they're less pushy. I was about to tell her there and then, when Tiri said "You're really complementing Sophie here." I was like, "Tiri, I was about to tell Emma, she doesn't actually know yet." :L Tiri was so apologetic bless her, though I didn't mind, she just assumed that as most of our other friends knew, Emma knew too. But I think it's really sweet how Emma was saying nice stuff about bi people before I even came out to her... and of course, she was absolutely fine with it once she knew :L

I had exactly the same fears before I came out - in fact, I still have the same fear about telling anyone who I haven't told yet. But think about it this way - they're your friends for a reason. Because they like you. If any of them all of a sudden decide they don't like you because of your sexuality, they were never a true friend in the first place and you're better off without them. However, like I said, don't be in a rush to decide for sure what sexuality you are. If you have a friend who you'd trust with anything, then you could talk to them about it, but if not, don't tell anyone until you're sure :)

Well see that's the thing, for 4 years I DIDN'T know for sure. What clinched it for me though, was when I developed very strong feelings towards a girl - I realised that there was no way I'd be feeling like that if I was straight (I definitely knew I wasn't gay, because I knew for sure that I liked guys in that way.) But I'd been thinking I was for a long time before, because, well I had similar feelings towards girl as I did towards guys. I'd see images of really hot girls and feel the same way as I did towards images of really hot guys. I have a friend who's a girl and bisexual, and often I'd feel like I wanted to kiss her. In fact, the main difference between how I feel towards girls and guys is that I feel more confident around guys I like that girls, and that (usually, but not always) I don't fancy straight girls. Though I often fall for gay guys. Which I don't think is fair :P That's really the only way you can tell, if you have similar feelings towards both sexes, but I know how hard it can be to know for sure, but that really is the only way you can tell I'm afraid :(

i don't have anything against bi or gay people. I have had bisexual and gay friends in the past and i don't view them as anything else except a normal human being :)...we are all human so why should it matter? And gay boys happen to be very sweet ^_^ which makes me smile.

i see no problem with i hate when people say they dont like people who date in the same sex or like the same sex it pisses me off soooo bad. i think that some gay or bi relationships are even better than strait ones. i really dont see how thier relationships are any differnt from strait ones. im strait and my boy friend is bi and we have a great relationship it is also kinda awsome because we both have the same taste in guys.
