awe, that really sucks man! :(...don't feel bad though school's tend to do that alot...(the same happens at my school -_-) no hoodies, gloves, not even skinny jeans allowed?! suspended for wearing skinny jeans?!!thats just going over the limit >.< I dunno but, teachers as well as principles need to calm down a bit :/ btw, sorry about the teacher and the gloves... :( its really petty, there just cloths and acessories...its not like someone is going to injury another with wearing them, right?!...*sigh*

They are just threatened because people like *us* sorta subvert societal norms. Just saying. And that sucks, my school is super liberal. I can wear chain pants, skinnies, gloves, anything as long as another student doesn't complain and it's not *offensive* (like, pornographic or has to deal with drugs and weapons/gangs) No hoods up though, that's pretty much it. You can have your hair and face however you want.

Omg, sounds like your school is just as bad as my high school was :L Our uniform rules were really strict: No coats/jackets/jumpers besides the official school sweatshirt indoors (same goes for scarves, gloves & hats) Only plain white polo shirts or those with the official school logo on allowed. Only black trousers or skirts allowed - trousers must be straight-legged, not flared, skinny, etc, and skirts must be knee-length and straight. Only black shoes allowed - no trainers except for drama and PE Hair must be only natural colours and natural style. No piercings except for one set of ear piercings, in which you can only wear a small pair of studs or hoops. No other jewellery allowed. I'm so glad I no longer go there :D The worst rule, tbh, was the first one, because they hardly ever put the heating on so in the winter it was always freezing, so I'd wear my hoodie (my hood wasn't up!) over my sweatshirt, and the teachers would be like, take that off, and I'd be like, uhhh, no, it's fucking freezing in here xD

It sucks, doesn't it? D= I find it quite funny now that I've left, cuz they're spent so long concentrating on enforcing uniform rules rather than good quality teachers that the high school's now on special measures :L on the other hand, the 6th form (where you can dress how you like so long as it's not offensive to anyone), got a "good" in their ofsted report xD

Very :L and it's especially funny cuz when I started the high school, it was one of the best in the area and parents were fighting to get their kids a place... and now it's one of the worst... :L

Exactly! They say that it's so that people who come from "low income families" don't feel left out which prevents bullying, but it really doesn't. Most of my social group aren't particularly well off, but we'd much rather wear our own clothes than spend extra on what the school wants us to wear.

Interesting I post a topic ages ago called Emo Fashion and School / Work Rules. This has lots of replies so check it out as it's very relevant.
