Should this harmful chemical be banned? Jun 29 2011, 02:22 AM
Dihydrogen monoxide: is called "hydroxyl acid", the substance is the major component of acid rain. contributes to the "greenhouse effect". may cause severe burns. is fatal if inhaled. contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape. accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals. may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes. has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients. Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used: as an industrial solvent and coolant. in nuclear power plants. in the production of Styrofoam. as a fire retardant. in many forms of cruel animal research. in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical. as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

yes, yes it should, but then what if its used for useful things as well? i cant really think of any, but its just in the way and killing things, it would proberly be banned already, there got 2 be something that we could be using right now that needs that acid 2 be made. or what if its used in science experiments at collages and uni? it could be a vital part of education. if its not any of those things, then sure, make it get the fuck outa my life!

Well I'm against nearly everything, so yes it should be. I'm also against drugs, alcohol abuse and anything in that direction. But i don't think the ban will help this is a world of capitalism "MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, WHO CARES IF SOMEONE DIES AS-LONG AS WE GET OUR MONEY!!!" T_T

OF COURSE it should be banned they should care less about the money if people are actaully getting hurt. Whats the point of getting the money if people start dying no one will be able to pay for it if we are all dead! and i have a question. How does chemical rain come of?

In short, yes. Definitely more negativities surrounding the chemical that its positives, and even when they are good, they are things we could go without and/or find alternatives to.

^ Factories and use of oil, coal and other fossil fuels. it can also come of radiation from nuclear plants. Norway got lots of it, the radiation from Chernobyl got all the way to Norway. The animals started to mutate in weird ways, also fluor or alot of "not co2" but co i think it was called or co3 i cannot remember the formula

the way i see it.....if anything is dangerous enough to be called a "harmful chemical" and with that many side effects.......then yeah, it should be freakin banned lol
