I'v been emo at heart for years but finally really accepted who I was just a few months ago. My problem is that, while my mom is fine with it, my dad would probably kill me if I ever wear anything that looks the part. And he is the only one that has the money to buy me anything... I'm stuck wearing abercrombie and old navy all the time and I HATE it. What should I do???

same with me, both my parents don't like the style though, but i do.......... my parents doen't even like the music but i listen to it anyways, but im sorry i can't help :L

tell them how you feel straight up, be like dad i hate who , i am , i wanna be me , not who you make me , i just wanna be free to be my self and exspress my self but you just make me feel like a lie . , tell him that, tell him how he makes you feel, hope i could help

Yeah, I think telling them the truth is the best way to go. If it doesn't go over so well, then you'll just have to stick it out or try some compromises.

agree with xoxoReneZombiexoxo I think you should tell the truth..I did...they still don't let me have piercings, tattoos and dye my hair...but at least the buy me the clothes I want ;d good luck ;p

haha I'd have to agree with Thomis, it's actually not as hard as you'd think to cut your own hair... lol as for clothing I too am stuck in that same spot >:/ my mom thinks wearing black is unattractive, but I look good in black...

If your parent can't accept you for the way you are and love you unconditionally no matter what, then they shouldn't have had a kid. As long as your not murdering, raping, stealing, etc theres not a damn thing wrong with what you do.
