Just explain to her that you enjoyed reading those magazines and you don't plan on filling your entire room from the base up with magazines(For that is the trend of hoarding). From what I've seen, whenever someone is a hoarder they're making up or hiding from something they don't want to deal with, and so bury it. Some example would be a mother hoarding stuff because she's lonely from her children leaving the house, wanting to provide yourself with security that previously wasn't in a childhood. Ask your mother(If you want to) why she's concerned about this thing/habit and see if maybe there's a different reason behind it.
