In the hollowness thereafter And the aftermath behind, I beg to wonder where I am - If at all I truly "am". Now, wonder through the park green glades And insomniac-like dreams, And take the path along the stream Through forests turned to ash. Nothing there but barren scapes And whisps of ash cloud birds; Hollow trunks of dark despair And dreams struck down by fire. All that's left of what once was In times of partial war - Now, trundle through the blackened stumps And dark duvets of ash, I look around and see nothing I used to see before, So, sit right down and breath deep in The air of clotted mass. Take dreams and webs of present past And weave them in the cloth Cut here and there through threads of gold To represent this scene. Take long, frayed ends and matted seams To mirror this mirrage - Dont be too careful with these dreams Since we know they'll only end.
