LGBTQ's Committing Suicides? :| Aug 05 2011, 08:46 AM
LGBTQ-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer... Soo, Justin Aaberg, Seth Walsh, Asher Brown, Billy Lucas, Tyler Clementi, Brandon Bitner, Raymond Chase, Cody J. Barker, Justin “Chloe” Lacey, Aiyisha Hassan, Nicholas Kelo Jr., Corey Jackson, Lance Lundsten, Kameron Jacobsen, and Zach Harrington are all LGBTQ students who've commited suicide between 2010-2011. And these are just deaths that have happened in America :| I have a TON of LBGTQ friends, some are open about their sexual orientation and some keep quiet about it(but people suspect anyway). They're bullied everyday. And reading about this makes me get reaaalllyy anxious. They're all great people. I wouldn't want this to happen to them :/

Some people use queer as a substitute. But queer actually is used to describe something that's not normal. Most LGBT's don't really like it because you're basically calling them weird just because of their S.O Emo's, Goths, etc. would be considered queer because we have different tastes/views. Yeah, we're not 'normal'.

Wow... I heard about that, but didn't realise exactly how many suicides there were :( that's awful :( I'm bisexual, but only a few close friends and people on the internet who don't know me in rl know this, so I've never experienced first-hand homophobic bullying, and I hope I never will. From what I've seen in the UK at least, homophobia is becoming less of a problem, though is still there, don't get me wrong, but more people are fine with it than there used to be. In fact, when a long-time friend of mine came out as gay, he got a wave of support, so there's certainly plenty of people who do care. I just hope we can keep moving forwards, and other nations will do to, to prevent such a large amount of suicides from homophobic bullying happening again.

It seems like even though people in America are supportive of LGBT's, the government is fighting the citizens on it. Some important people are all for it, but there are still problems on the federal level. America's government is trash.

Jojo, that's how it is in Houston, Texas. If you even breathe anything about someone being gay, you'll get jumped. And it's like 'wtf?'. I thought this was a free fucking country and what not. Obviously, you can't express your opinion as much as you'd think though :/ But other people from my school are planning on getting together this year and showing that there are Houstonians who support LGBTQ rights :)
