Are preps really THAT bad.? Aug 09 2011, 06:52 PM
Before i begin, I do not label, I am just doing so for the ease of this topic. Ive heard lots and lots of people on here saying they just go around making people commit suicide and such.. I personally have never seen anything like that. What my opinion of "prep" is is someone who cares a lot about fashion and the "new" thing... "Emos" pretty much are the same way... there preps with dark clothes on. "Scenesters" are preps with big hair... No prep has ever messed with me... The only thing theyve really done "mean" was ignore the ones just asking to be made fun of (picking noses, wearing computer parts as jewelry, going around saying "look im so emo cuz i have cuts on my arms, emos are so cool") So being as ive NEVER witnessed them being mean to anyone.. i cant comprehend why they are being called quote: "heartless fucking monsters" by members of this site and people saying all they do is go around beating people and making them commit suicide... To me that sounds more like the "thugs" cuz umm.. yea. So can i have a constructive answer and not a bunch of posers bashing me cuz i dont think they are monsters? Please.

on soemo the term prep means the kids who act as if their perfect and are popular within school hiercharies and are considered the 'top dogs' in school. their the means kids that don't like someone if their not popular or preppy and their most typical prey are emos. their are different terms for preps but this is what people on soemo somewhat consider preps or chavs.

everybody keeps saying there the mean kids who prey on emos.... i have friendly convos with them all the time..... they arent even mean to the people like the super-goths that go around puting "spells" on people.. they just kind of ignore them... I think its kind of a misconseption because not all "preps" are out to get you... im sure some preps are mean.. but theres mean people from every clique. Im considered "emo" and im a dickhead that argues alot. Ill admit that.

yea I agree i've met alot of nice preps in my life and befriended a handful. But i've also been in many encounters with the mean ones, especially the sterotypical group of mean girls. it all just depends.

Lucky you for never really coming into contact with mean preps. I agree that most preps aren't really that bad, but there is a certain kind...The elitist kind. The rich kids who were bred to hate anything not 'normal.' They pick on and bully others because for some reason they hate themselves. I've seen a few incidents. They're out there, just not as much as people put on movies and stuff. I mean, bullying isn't just preps vs. emos/everybody else...But they are the majority, from what I've seen. Usually what I call preppy is 'normal' people. You know, the athletic types who wear shorts and their hair up like they got out of vollyball practice and Pink brand sweats. The guys who wear baseball caps and think they are God's gift to women...Jocks. Well-to-do, maybe. They often take trips to the tanner. Like everyday. At least, were I come from... [EDIT] My best friend is a prep. She used to be an Otaku, (now she's in the closet about that, haha) and now she's leaning more into the Scenester fashion. So, yeah. There are definately nice preps out there.

I am really happy to see some people agree that is is possible for preps to be nice. i really am. a lot of people on here just dont get that tho... And i completely agree that there are some(not all) bred to think differences are bad, but thats their parents fault i think... But for me, the typical bullies are the kids who just give up on school and think they are gangsters and such

Not all preps are bad. But, being a reluctant alabama resident, EVERYTHING I do or say is instantly evil and satanic, which apparently means that I must be doused in holy water and burned as a sacrifice. Dont believe me? here. straight from my friend's Facebook who simply said "I'm tired of people shoving the bible down my throat. I'm sorry but I dont believe what you believe." "DISLIKE. YOU ARE LAUGHING NOW BUT JUST WAIT TILL WE"RE ALL UP IN HEAVEN AND YOURE DOWN HERE WAITING TO BE THROWN IN TO BURNING HELL FIRE! AND ILL TRY AND HELP YOU. BUT IF YOU WONT LISTEN I"LL LOOK DOWN AND LAUGH AS YOU BURN." ^^^ I rest my case. doesn't sound very godly to tell people that you'll laugh when they 'burning in hell fire'.

I know you didnt mean it, but i take offence in parts of that post.. "evil and satanic" and "DOWN HERE WAITING TO BE THROWN IN TO BURNING HELL FIRE!" dont wanna start a whole nother religious debate, but the idea of being satanic has being completely warped and twisted by other religions. Satanism is not evil, we are law abiding and do nothing "evil" the whole purpose of satanism is to further yourself and become happier and better. and the hell thing... that has been warped too, as lucifer stood up to god for god killing masses of people, he was cast down. so if lucifer was standing up for the humans, why would he burn us?

^^That isn't very Godly at all. :( I'm sorry people have been jerks to you, using God as an excuse. And btw, Lucifer was cast down because he was jealous of Micheal (who was God's favorite) and rallied a bunch of angels to take down God, not because God was killing people- (to which he said he would never mass-murder his children ever again) And Lucifer isn't the one burning us, God is. With Lucifer also suffering. So. Not trying to argue or anything, but that's what I was told. I never heard of your reason, but its an interesting point of view. But yeah. Back on topic. Preps GENERALLY aren't that bad. But the ones who are...REALLY are.

Depends on the prep really. Some are alright, some not so. I used to be in the "prep" crowd, and hated every minute of it, they were all bitches, but since I've met some nicer ones, so yeahh, definitely depends on who it is. Chavs are worse imo.

Scene kids are preps with big hair? No. They're not. Emos are preps with dark colours? again, no. I love your little comment at the end, dominick. Uh, I agree with FlamingBlackSkulls completely. Some are good, some are bad. You have people who are 'jocks' who are all big and tough, but are really down to Earth. Gangsters, thugs, chavs, haters, etc. are the ones who do the MOST bullying, if you ask me. And yeah, the whole 'Emos are Preps with darker clothes' thing is just plain offensive. If that's true, my definition of Emo is way off.

when you characterize a prep as a bad person. it's exactly the same as a prep characterizing and emo as a loser or whatever. If you irrationally hate them, than they can irrationally hate you. Hate the acts of the person and then hate for that person is acceptable.Do not hate the ridiculous label/name you are giving them.

I said "I've never met a nice one". I didn't say they couldn't hate me. I was sticking up for my friend in the chat, if you must know. I said "Yeah, they all treat me the same" or something like that. I never said they couldn't hate me back, you can't stop that. I've had a bad experience with them, so I do not like them. Just like if someone is pushed in a pool as a child, they have a higher risk of hating water later on. This is a similar theory. So this post if pretty pointless tbf. Js.

So apparently if someone has a bad experience with some one of another race, its ok to have a hate for all ppl of that race. This is of course according to your prep/push in pool water theory. Don't fight hate with hate.

If someOne had a bad experience with a person of a different race as a kid, then that experience might imprint a fear of that race, not always hate. They would be more likely to not go around people of that race because they don't want to relive the past.

Toni; If you understood what I said, It's usually based on experience to hate something. So if it's okay or not, it's their personal opinion towards them, who are you to say who we can and cannot hate? Yet you don't know anyones' past. Ana; That's sort of what I was getting at, a lot of people are scared of some sort of people to what they're going to say or do.. so they may hate them for it. But of course, yes we wouldn't go near them but it's kind of difficult with them walking round streets and school as well. Dominick; Yes, finally, you let this topic die. This was a stupid and pointless post anyway, if you wanted to settle this "argument" maturely, you could have replied in a pm on chat to one of us. Now, I doubt I'll reply on this post any more. It's a complete waste of time, I've made my point. End of.
