My best friend and I were texting yesterday, and he told me that he wasn't going to be bisexual anymore. I was totally shocked. He's been bi since the middle school, and he seemed totally happy with it. He says that he realizes now that being bisexual is a sin, and that he can't fully be a true Christian if he was committing a sin. So basically he's giving up being HAPPY because he doesn't want to go to Hell. I got mad and told him that God doesn't exist, and if he did, he'd be a total bastard to have his 'children' give up being happy just to please him. He's obviously getting depressed about having to give up guys. Should I confront him and tell him to 'fuck his religion' or should I just let him continue on how he is now? (No offense to any Christians. I just...REALLY hate how judgmental most Christians are)

Well, one of my bisexual friends did the same thing. She decided that she wanted to be a "true" christian and "become straight". I told her that I would support what ever she wanted to do. After a few weeks of frustration, she decided to be true to herself. She is now again a proud bisexual. So I would suggest supporting what ever your friend wants to do.

I know, but he seems sad enough as it is. I don't want him to start cutting himself again. Self-harm is never a good thing.

Tell him how you feel, without screaming at him or getting mad . But don't put down his religion . Tell him that all you care about is his happiness, and that you think he should do what will make him happy . But if he still wants to try and be straight back him up on it . Be his friend . Chances are sooner or later he will realize that his happiness is important and will go back to being bi .

Everything's pretty much been said... but yeahh, God wouldn't want him to be unhappy by being someone he's not. He shouldn't have to compromise his sexuality to please God (that's not what he'd want) or other Christians, as I've said many times before, I know several Christians who really aren't bothered what your sexuality is, and that's really how Christianity should be.

the christians that say being LGB is a sin, just take the bible out of context, I agree with what everyone else says, just never give up on your friend and be there for him through everything(:

im bisexual and i understand what its like to think that everybody hates u based off of your sexual orientation and its hard to think that even god hates you, but u have to stay true to yourself and know who you are and not let anybody change that

I know this isn't exactly on topic, but my school actually has a gay-straight alliance club... It's the first time I've ever seen that in such a small school...
