Couldn't sleep all night last night, and ended up writing half a book full of.. well, stories/poetry, I don't really know. I normally never write poetic stuff like this, just fiction, unless I'm in this absent state of mind. Decided I'd try to be brave and post a couple on here for the first time ever. They're long, but I hope you enjoy. Untitled (Suggestion: read it slowly) It's all here now. The red of the sky. Sunlight barely piercing through. The melting snow. The pattern of naked branches. The cold. The gentle breeze. I lower my head and close my eyes. You're here. It was so quiet. So serene. Only the sound of your breath and the breeze whispering in the trees. Cold fingers. Dry, smooth skin. It played with you that day, the wind. Tugged your scarf, lifted your hair. For a while, you were the wind. You wrapped around me. Embraced me without touch. You were happy. I was lost in you. You smile. I open my eyes, and you're gone. I kneel. The ground is wet. I lay a rose down on the moist grass. Please, come back. I close my eyes again. You're here. You tell me once more. It's not my fault. I know. No one can change anything. It's not fair. I open my eyes. My sight is blocked by stone. Your name is spelled out in front of me. I close my eyes, and I scream. You're not smiling anymore. I clench the grass. My tears fall hard to the ground. You try to wipe them, but you can't. There is nothing you can do. I could never stop. I open my eyes, and I rise. You aren't there. I'm alone. I can hear a whisper. The breeze comes. I close my eyes. You're here. You wrap around me. Embrace without touch. I kiss the wind.
