Scared of cutting... Jan 11 2012, 12:09 PM
Ok, so i'm terrified, of blades, knives, i'm afraid of paper..i cant look at my wrists..like i really cant look at them i get seriously sick feeling, i get numb, and i nearly faint sometimes..if i see it on a show, or a movie, i near puke, and fall over.. how can i get over this? Its crazy, and i can't stand it, atm my wrists are numb cause im watching this show and this kid had to just...ya...so any advice on getting this over? I can't stop thinking about it when this stuff happens and i have to rub them together or just c url up and breathe paranoidly...Please help :(

I would say exposure therapy... but that would involve self harm, which isnt a good idea

Maybe its better that way...If u get exposed you might be vulnerable to cutting and stuff... Rather justdont think about it and avoid it. Im shure you will move on...Eventually... Goodluck dude!

Yeah..doing it to get over it..fucking crazy...lol, i just hope so...it just bothers me..and it seems to be more common of a thing discussed and seen on tv and movies..it just really bothers.. me... :/

Im sure its not a big deal...Although yeah its becoming really popular on TV on almost all broadcasts...It will be fine though :]

look dude, i know you dont know me and i dont know you but im actually going to beg you not to cut yourself. PLEASE dont do it. at the start, you'll think you can controll it and you'll think that its easy to stop but pretty soon it gets out of controll. tbh, i dont know what you should do about the tv stuff, but dont cut yourself. (its hard to sound like your begging when your just typing, so feel free to read this in a begging voice... whatever the hell a begging voice is)

Lol, person above me. Trust me..I'd never..i get sick feeling from paper cuts.. I just think its an annoying fear i have and thought someone could tell me a way to just shrug it off when I see something like it. Like needles..I fear needles alot, even though its like a second of pain then its done. But it still scares me sick.

Try closing your eyes and breathing in deep when ever you feel afraid of something... I did that when I was afaid of needles... now they don't bother me(:
