Anarcho Emo Movement (Filling the gap) Mar 09 2012, 08:18 AM
Anarcho Emo is a term often used when describing people within the emo culture who rebel against the new direction the "Emo Scene" is going. They hold an opinion that the emo scene of today is moving further and further away from the main core of emo music, emo fashion and emo sub-culture. The term has recently been used on facebook, but is still just a vague expression of those who like old-school emotive hardcore and want to bring the "Real Emocore" back. The origin of the movement started out in 2010. Very few people are a part of this movement, and very few know of it. The anarcho emo movement is all about the mix of emotive hardcore and punk rock. Even tho the music genres are related, the cultures can differ greatly. The whole point is to reorganize and find the balance between the dark emotion-focused aspect of the emo sub-culture and the rebelling, hardcore style of punk. Some of the aspects of the Anarcho Emo movement is to be self-determined and respect other people's self-determination. Bowing down to society is considered to be mundane, instead they stand up for themselves and are true and honest to themselves. Another key-aspect that is inherited from Punk is Anti-Fashion. A principal guideline to this fashion is to not dress a certain way just because people command so but instead dress however they wish; most who are closer to the old school culture, would prefer DIY (Do It Yourself) Clothing. Why is it called Anarcho Emo? The answer is simple. Anarcho Emo is a word influenced by Anarcho Punk or music promoting Anarchy. This doesn't necessarily mean that one supports Anarchism; it is more of a freedom of the mind and personal freedom attitude. That you are free to be whoever you want without being judged as a person worth less than others. You shouldn't be afraid to be yourself and you shouldn't be afraid of living your life the way you you want. Most people within the movement look at this society as judgemental over for people who dress differently or are attracted to what's different from what the majority is attracted to. Most would listen to whatever they want, but the movement itself would be more involved in Punk/Emo/Goth/Metal/Rock music. Bands such as Sex Pistols, Rites Of Spring, Gray Matter, NOFX, The Descendents, Acidez, The Unseen, The Ramones and million others. The Anarcho Emo Movement do not want to be associated with Self-Harm, Depression or Suicide. Rather focusing the beauty of this world that is romantic and stunning, hiding behind the veil of darkness that most people do not see.

That's great! I never knew there was a name for that :D More and more bands hit mainstream. The new music is just shallow and emo seems to be drifting more towards fashion. I like the idea of keeping real emo alive :) And finally... You can also check out Sed Non Satiata, Daitro and Gantz (last one is hard to find). They're all French I believe.

This is something i personally came up with xD There never were a name for it and wikipedia wouldn't let me make a page because it's my thing and there's no source to it's origin xD I would love for people to join this movement because i think it's important to stick to the roots and not wander off to become just another teenage fad ;3
