Broken families May 13 2012, 02:55 AM
I've noticed that it is becoming serious problem of our century. Many of my friends were left by one of their parents or they are in some similar situation. Don't u think that recently the role of family have changed? In the past it was mainly support and motivation for people. Now it's rather complication. New society schemes are giving new demands. There is no place for love, for making home. I want to hear your opinions cause we're writing a song on this and I need more inspiration. And I wanna see the scale of problem worldwide...

I haven't even talked to my family for about since December because all it ever was, was a bunch of arguing, and they only ever talked to me when they wanted me to do something for them...

Yea I really feel like the children and parents in families nowadays can be quite distant. It's mainly due to a lack of understanding and communication I guess.

I agree with everyone. In fact, I just met my dad not that long ago but he only wanted to meet me cos my siblings(half brothers and sisters) are all doing well financially and he thought he could get me to convince them to lend him money. Fighting is all my family does, which is really sad because I bet they honestly can't remember why they hate each other so much, they often fight over our parent's money but they don't even need it so it's very stupid. And they gang up on those of us who want to keep the peace, which then brings more arguements.

well, I think that distance between parent and child has always kinda been there, but the divorce rate for america (and other places like europe) so family values are certainly different nowadays

It's pretty sad how common broken families are becoming :( My parents split up when I was about 10, but I still see both regularly. Honestly, life was much better after they broke up. There was no more arguing at home and both of them were much happier. Divorce is a horrible thing for a child to go through, but just because the parents don't split doesn't make it a family if they only stay together for the kids. In fact, it's worse...

I've been thinking for the last 14 years that my parents were going to split. They haven't (yet), but they argue so much that I wish they would. I know that sounds horrible, especially to anyone who's parents have divorced, but I'd rather live in a calm home with one parent than a chaotic one with two. I don't get along with my mum anyway, she's paranoid, hypocritical and constantly has to be causing arguments for no good reason.
