I have super thick curly/wavy hair, so I know exactly what you mean. If you want your hair to go against its natural flow, just keep in mind that doing it all the time can damage it. Make sure to give your hair a rest sometimes. ANYWAYS: Some tips for you. Blow dry your hair with a wide barrelled brush to help smooth out the curls. Using a smoothing/straightening serum can help. Then try straightening your hair like that. Get a good straightener if you can because cheap ones tend to suck. Also, to keep it straight hairspray the section you're straightening first before going at it. It helps it stay longer. If you want your hair to look good while it is still curly as well, ask your hairstylist for a cut that will compliment how your hair moves. It will probably involve soft layers and bulk-removing. So, some light razoring. Too many layers makes your hair more curly though. Hope I helped! :)
