I think it's because they think you're unique in their eye. I wouldn't think of it as a negative thing or something that will nag you. I mean I get weird looks when I'm out. People just have interest, or they have nothing else better to look at in public.

You were used to it so u probably didn't notice it before u had a break in going out. X.x I have this impression that everyone is looking at me when I'm forced to look "normal" (I have some exams or sth). O.o

Stares are all part of the fun :) If my town is anything like yours, it's full of Chavs claiming to be 'unique'. I can't count the amount of times I've been stared at by old people in town of a Saturday afternoon.

I've been stared at loads, but it doesn't bother me unless they actually confront me about my look. It's their problem if they don't like how I dress xD

Stares can be really annoying, but it comes with the territory of being seen as different. It's like...If you saw a unicorn amongst normal horses. It'd be strange and awesome all at the same time. If the stares are hostile, ignore them. If they're more in awe, appreciate and enjoy them. I, for one, adore being a spectacle. :)
