Every single time I go out somewhere, to a mall, into the city, for a walk I always have people looking at me. Staring at me directly and blatantly, either that or they turn away and laugh. Argh, so rude. Does anyone else ever experience this?

Don't worry deary, you aren't alone. I live in a town full of Marines and military families, so everybody is expected to be "proper" and "normal". Then someone like me strolls on base with pink hair and a fox tail pinned to my butt. Needless to say I've raised a few eyebrows. Just hold your head high and be proud of who you are. I've noticed that most of the people who react to me in a negative way are either super old or just jealous that they aren't comfortable enough with themselves to express their style the way that I do. I've had so many people come up to me and say "I really love your style, but I would never be brave enough to do it myself!" Jealousy really explains a lot of it. They conform and try to fit in with a more "normal" style so that society will accept them. Whereas people such as us don't give a flying fuck about what society thinks and we just do what makes us happy. So don't dwell on it too much, and definitely don't let it get you down. You should be proud that you are being true to yourself. :]

It's the same where i live, i seem to be the only person into alternative music, and i dress differently. So everyone is the same with me as tehy are with you

i do to it kinda sucks but look at them back and give them a look they give you if they laugh damn find someone who looks like you if ur friends there look and roll your eyes and laugh it make them stuned

Yeah, it's mostly jealousy. I get loads of positive comments on the way I dress, but there will always be a few jerkoffs that try to make you feel bad. Don't. Being a spectacle is so much more fun than fitting in! :)

This happens to me all the time. I think of it as getting more attention than a normal person. I don't mind it I guess. I wouldn't want to be a boring normal person anyways, I like to stand out.

This happens to me all the time:( I dont really mind it though. It gets annoying once in awhile, but I just ignore it. Well "try" to...Im like super quiet, im a complete anti-social loner, and people dont really like the way i dress and the music i listen to and stuff...So alot of people look at me or treat me strange...

it's true no matter where u go there is always someone there to put in thier 2 cents wether or not u ask for it, i have a hard time dealing with it too. but sometimes u just have to say fuck u and walk on. just think of it as they can't stand it that u can be differnt and be ok with it and they can't it drives them crazy so they have to figure out a way to deal with it and they take it out on you.

Don't get caught up in staring or people laughing, for all you know they're laughing at something completely unrelated. As far as staring, some people just stare and don't realize it. even if they do stare like your a freak, who cares. If you like colored hair, tattoos, piercings, etc people are always going to judge, but fuck em

I constantly get shit like this. My favourite was a guy in a tracksuit shouting "emos belong in the 90's faggot" from a moving car window. Ignore the close minded assholes and be proud of who you are.
