A lot of people I know who are into the punk scene (or whatever) like to use the brands with a badass image, but I'm going to tell you now, the BEST things I've ever used is Garnier. My hair's been black as pitch for four months now (maybe longer) and the only problem I have is touching up my roots. The dye is cheap as a bitch <3 Not sure if you can find that particular brand on the other side of the pond, but any inexpensive (but still relatively decent) dye should do the trick if you pair it with a good developer. I recommend a twenty volume as a rule of thumb. Of course, you could always walk into the closest salon to where you live, and just ask whoever's at the counter what brand they recommend. Good luck and stay gorgeous.

I agree with Live Colour XXL , they're a really good brand :) I've used both Directions and Stargazer as well, but both don't seem to work brilliantly on unbleached hair :/
