well as some of you may or may not know i've very recently had a bought of food poisoning (from cross contamination) meaning that i had to cancell all my plans at rather short notice and this included a date/trip out with a guy (for privacy lets call him W ) so yhea I left W a message on his FB wall as soon as i knew i wouldn't be able to make today's date/trip... so friday afternoon time but after no reply by saturday i left him a email and a txt but still have no reply in the hope he'sd got the message sucessfully... but yhea no still reply or acknowledgment W had received the message today i feel really guilty about cancelling at short notice at the best of times and i did apologise but today on his wall he shared and posted various things that made me think otherwise and some i thought were directly aimed at me It's as if he didn't belive i had food posioning at all and is making me think that he feels i was just dropping him :( whitch is NOT true at all ... now i'm not sure what to do ...give him space or try and contact him again to apologise again for the cancellation and problms that may have caused ?? i've litrally no idea what to do but i really want to make things work this time and i feel being ill has just gone and ruined everything

is this the first time that you have cancelled on him or has there been other times where you have had to cancel?

Well honestly he might not be the right person for you if he doesn't believe you. But if you truly are set on trying to make things work, I'd try and reschedule something as soon as possible so that he knows you're putting an effort into fixing things. Like you suggested, he might think that you were just blowing him off for something else, so if you actively make an effort to fix things he might be inclined to think otherwise. Also, as awful as it sounds, he might just be trying to get back at you. I know I personally hate things getting cancelled last moment or plans being changed, even when I know that there's a good reason for it (such as getting sick). I develop a slightly vindictive attitude whenever it does happen and become unresponsive and distant, sort of like what's happening now. If it were me, I'd try to give to talk to him first and get something rescheduled, and if he still doesn't respond, then maybe back off for a little while and give him a chance to cool down while letting him know that you're not going anywhere and that you'll be there for him when he's ready. Ultimately though it's up to you and I hope that everything works out for the best.

well tit wasn't your fault that you had to cancel you got an illness pretty much you had got cancel.. it happens. If he ends up ignoring or just not talking much at all over that then i'll start to think about not bothering with him.

Could be a few things that makes him think you do not actually have food poisoning. Maybe he is insecure about himself, maybe he's thinking "Knew it'd be too good to be true". He could have had a bad few days and is releasing some anger and frustration maybe not meaning to. Or it could be a trust issue. Or something unmentioned.

Re-schedule (3 chances max). If he is willing then he might be worth it, else don't bother. I'm speaking from experience, but that was more a play hard to get situation.
