Opportunity for Members in and around Birmingham, UK Jan 08 2013, 01:03 PM
Please see the email below I had today. Oh and if Carly messages you it is not spam; just another great opportunity we've had on this site. Dear Admin, I found you on the SOEMO site as the person to speak to about putting anything on the site. I have set up a profile in order to speak to people but I didn’t want to just contact people until speaking with you first. I am working on a popular BBC3 show and we are looking for Emo-scene type people to have a laugh with our presenter about essentially the preconceptions people have of the Emo-scene lifestyle. As it says on the ‘What is Emo’ section of your website, it is argued that the media have played a part in representing Emo-Scene style types as a negative, but we essentially want to find out what these are, and reveal that actually it’s not so dark and Emo’s are just as friendly as anyone else and not hurt themselves, like you mention on your website. Essentially I would like to track down some cool Emo-Scene people who would be willing to come to (or live in ) Birmingham and have a fun, informal chat with our presenter Ellie, who would like tips and advice on hair styling/dying, makeup, clothes, musical taste and maybe teach her to play the guitar if anyone is up for it. I didn’t know if you would be able to help me, whether you could put a shout out on the site or whether I should just contact people only in Birmingham? Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, --------------------------------------------------- Carly Mann Researcher | Snog Marry Avoid 6 Remarkable Television : Queensgate : 121 Suffolk St : Birmingham : B1 1LX E: carly.mann@endemoluk.com

Hey guys! It's Carly here from BBC3's Snog Marry Avoid. We are filming next Saturday (19th January) in Pigeon Park from 1pm until around 4pm latest, we would only need invdividuals for a couple of minutes per person or if you are in a group or band then we can interview in groups, but it's literally just an informal chat and giving tips to our presenter on how to have her hair, what clothes she should wear as she's trying to fit in with the Birmingham crowd. There are age restrictions, ideally you would be 18 or over, however if you are 17 and have both parents sign a release form then that's not a problem (I can email this form to you if you want one as we can't film with you unless your parent have signed it prior to filming. My email address is carly.mann@endemoluk.com or my contact number is 0121 616 8981, if you get voicemail say my name so that the office know the message is for me and I'll get back to you asap. It's going to be a giggle and would be great if people were free to take part. If anyone needs anymore info, drop me an email or give me a call I am in all day today and tomorrow. Carly x

If I was about I'd go myself, but I'm in a different country then... Hopefully someone off here will attend anyway :)
