Flash Backs Jan 29 2013, 01:38 PM
I don't know if anyone else has these but if you havn't here sort of what they are like (very hard to explain unless you've had them ) it's like a violent nightmare but you see images that you were involed in being replayed to you but unlike REM sleep( dreams and nightmares ) you can't twist what the out come is ... because you already know it. In my case i see myself SH and it's like i'm a invisible bystander ..i see and hear it all but i can't move or stop it however hard i try to and then i wake up in cold sweats or shaking normally but recently according to friends screaming on the odd occasion. these normally happends at night hence why i'm relucant to sleep as they bring up bad memories i'd rather forget very occasionally i get them during the day and this is normally after a very strong trigger and i see quick flashes when i blink ..i can deal with thoses but today i had a really bad flash back that started at the end of a lesson before lunch : it started the same as my night ones but i ended up blacking out completely .. 1st time that's ever happened what can i do to try and control these flash backs or at least prevent blackouts during the day ? sorry for the length of this post but it's the shortest i can make it thanks for reading

I get them a lot. Day and night. It's honestly really hard to control and you almost never can. What I do is that now I've gotten use to them so I mostly know when it will happen. I try to do other things to keep my mind off it change my thoughts. It works sometimes. But there only a little bit if things you can do and they almost never work. And honestly they get really annoying

they are more than certainly a big annoyance especially seen as i'm trying to recover/stop sh . thats the hard part predicting the ones at night, as i have no idea when they will occur but i'll now look out for signals for ones during the day

Hi K I had something similar a few years ago and the only thing that stops them for me is sleeping pills. Crap I know but I couldnt stand being freaked all the time. It got so bad at one time taht I was seeing people climb in the window and walk past the bed, I used to sit up ut no matter how hard i tried i couldnt shout at them to go away Hope you get some relief from it
