"I'm sorry mum", "it had to be done", she whispered as she held the gun, "he used to hurt me", "but you didn't know", "I hid the bruises so they wouldn't show". She walked over to the body, and sat on her bed, "he wouldn't have stopped if he wasn't dead", "I was scared mum", "what could I do?", "what if he did it to little Rosie too?" "I know you loved him", "but he was bad", "he cornered me at home... made me call him dad", she picks up her school top, it's torn and ripped, "I pulled out the gun as soon as he stripped". "I know you loved him mum", "but he had evil in his heart", "he took my trust and ripped it apart", she looked down at the body, the gun in her hand, "I'm so sorry mum... you won't understand". She raised it to her head, pulled the trigger tight, "I'll be free mum" she whispered, as she walked into the light.
