I had this problem of strict parents over hair till recently ... If your hair is layered (choppy or not ) back comb each layer at the roots and fix with hair spray to add the puffyness and volume that most scene hair styles have then what i used to do was add bows etc to finnish the look But alternatively to dying your hair you can buy clip in coloured hair extenshions in various styles if you want a splash of colour Also google and the web are great places to look for style ideas Hope this helps :)

Hmm I would just do what the other person said and try to tease it. It's really hard though especially if you don't have any layers it could end up just looking like a rats nest, which by then it's better to have it down. Without cutting it you could also try brushing it forward and securing it with hairspray it can look more like a scene hairstyle. If all of this fails I would just ask your mom more and give her some time to think about it and show her cute but toned down examples on the Internet. When I first wanted hair like that I tried to describe how it was layered and teased to my mom and she said no but after I showed her examples she thought it was cute and let me get it done the next day. Just ask and say that you could ask the hairstylist to make the layers longer than the examples. If she still says no just give it time and ask again. Eventually it should work. Also for the coloring a good solution is washable crayola markers. You do need to have blonde hair or blonde streaks in your hair cause it doesn't work on dark hair but if you got some small light blonde chunks or strips in your hair you could just color them with colored markers and have blue and black or purple and black or whatever until you take a shower and it all comes out. It doesn't damage it cause the markers are water based. It's really fun that's what I do with my entire hair ( I have blonde hair) and I can change it every week. Just talk to your mom calmly and explain why you want that hair and use examples and she might let you. I hope I helped :)

LucideKitten great advice on the colouring. Oh and invest in a razor comb and you can easily do some layers of your own then without going to a hairdressers.

plus.. make it your own.. try and not just copy a hairstyle exactly like how someone else has it :)

yer hir is black what more do u want...I always wanted black hair to make me look more emo... I had layers and back combed it loads to say the least for modelling it worked though I would never walk around like it...we are all different my hair is long and curly its emo because its me !!! :P

If I was you, I would do it with little steps so it don't look like a big change for your mom and everyone who doesn't like it.
