Help with starting highschool??? Aug 04 2013, 07:38 PM
Heyy guys as you may have seen I'm Lauren and I'm gonna be a freshman in highschool next year (9th grade) and I'm really scared. I'm going to a new school for the first time since 1st grade. I do not make friends easily at all I can be really shy and awkward. Also people are just randomly mean to me and hate me. :( I only have one friend but I want to make more friends in my new school and not get bullied like I did at my last school. Does anyone have suggestions??? Idk I'm just really worried an I don't want to be sad anymore. I want to be happier and more confident in highschool.

Im starting highschool too this year. I finally got away from all my bullies last year but now im going to c them all ;(

Hey guys! I'm going to reply to both of you, since you both are on the same page. High school is not as bad as it's cracked up to be. My advice is to just not give a shit about what everyone else thinks, no matter what. Also, even if you might be shy, it's always good to try and just talk to at least one person a day - it gets you friends easier than you imagine. I'm a sophomore. I just finished my freshman year in high school. Honestly, just focus on school and things that you want to do, and you will find friends and stuff as you go along. And try not to hate everyone on the first day. =) Easy as it sounds, it's not that easy! Haha, I'm just saying it because the more you give people a chance, the more they will give you a chance. Plus, you don't know most of them, and they don't know you. That's the best I can do for now. =/ If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Otherwise, sorry of that doesn't satisfy. =)

Like the above says.. I've just finnished high school and are off to 6th form next month so personaly i'd Justt be confident in yourself and make highschool into what you want as at the it's only school and when finnish it in a few yrs you probably wont even see half those people again. I found it easier to speak to those in my classes or groups as that way you share similar interests which is a good conversation starter. Also dont be scared just to go upto people and say hi as there is bound to be others in the same situation as you. As for school bullies hard as this is ignore them. The more you react the more they kick out of your reaction and do it more. Just remember most bullies are cowards or just jeaslous so remind yourself your the stronger and better person than they are and just be who you want despite hate If you need any more help feel free to PM me and ill do my best to try and help

Don't worry Lauren, starting high school was scary for me too and I was that shy awkward girl who was constantly bullied. But once I started high school I managed to find the courage within me and made a few friends who weren't afraid to speak their minds to the assholes that were bullying me. I can't really say what's the easiest way but what I do know is that there a lot more people in high school that have a similar background as you who went through the same things. I'm sure if you just be yourself, you'll find the best people to stick around and if you can some day just tell the kids who want to be mean to you to f---- off and grow up, well that'll be pretty sweet! That's what I did before I graduated and there is not a single thing I regret. Good luck Lauren, I hope I was helpful in some way :)

I just got out of my freshman year and I know exactly how that is. Just be proud of who you are! I was just like you when I was going there and I made some of the best friends in the world (then again, I was a band nerd ._.) but all I did was be who I truly was. Like I always say, if someone says your not beautiful, turn around and walk away so they can have a great view of your fabulous ass. Express yourself any way you can and no matter what, just keep true to yourself. I learned that the hard way.
