Contraception & safe sex! Jan 14 2014, 08:48 AM
Finally getting round to posting this topic :P Hopefully it helps someone out! Feel free to share experiences & I'll try to answer questions as well as I can but I'm no professional! So basically the on 100% safe way to not get an STI or pregnant is to not partake in any sexual activity at all, but there is stuff you can do to protect yourself... This is a pretty good video explaining different types of contraception... You should have a look on the health advice website for details of what's available in your country and any age restrictions that may apply... And if you have any questions I suggest visiting your doctor. They are there to give advice and support for your needs and if they're not helpful don't be afraid to ask to see another doctor. It's what they're there for. I know in the UK there are many youth health services on offer you give you advice and finding these is your area should be pretty easy, some may be able to even offer you some form of contraceptive without having to visit the doctors. Another thing I was to add is if you have had any sort of unprotected sex, there should be sexual health services (usually at these youth health centres too) that can offer you pregnancy tests and STI tests. I also highly recommend that you and your partner go get tested if you are not using a contraceptive method that protects against STIs. Don't be afraid to ask your partner you'll both be happy in the end if it stops either of you getting an STI. :P I could probably add more but I'll do that in the replies if I think of anything and I'll share my experiences with different methods I've used too so share your experiences too! :D
