Ok, so I wrote this one a really long time ago and keep changing things every now and then, I wrote it while listening to Silverstein's album Rescue which inspired me a little, but it is about an experience I went through a long time ago about love not being returned. Another dismal day dawns, if I could see the dawn’s rise For years now I’ve been trapped, peering through my disguise A disguise so rotten, you could expect the flies. Into my view, there she stumbles, the lava-red hair shines out a light into this world Moving with grace, such a caring soul, such compassion. I later repeat to myself: Undeserving, of a lowly scum of my fashion. And so I’ll drift away on my raft, remember the moments of red in my life No longer the dark red of veins come to my isolated mind... On the glance of my knife That glow, that burning, that released me from my chains was so kind So without fear or strife Warmth was within my reach…but now I drift off, Not intending to return, this time, to the beach I will find I am the sacrifice To appease my princess of light Who shined light into a black and grey world Who melted away my frozen form And so I recite a mariner’s masterpiece; I will lie back on my raft, and drift further away I will wallow in self-pity She will go on, and live her life, being so pretty I will tell myself I did never stand a chance Just wish I could get over those eyes, that glance… And I thought perhaps she loved me at one time, Silence, maybe this is my crime. I will lay here; the jagged shore awaits me, If only it would arrive sooner, I’m sick of drifting this lifeless, grey, black and white, this colourless Sea.
