I need help Feb 08 2014, 11:08 AM
so for the past 4 years I've been self harming And I don't even know what to do anymore, I feel like I don't know where else to turn This isn't working for me I need help Does anyone know any ways to make the self harm more effective, or to do it in a better way? Possibly one that leaves deeper, more noticeable scars, I just want people to notice me :((

Have you considered going into counselling? It helps a lot. You shouldn't need to leave deeper scars to get help for it. To get a referral for counselling you need to explain to your GP about everything that's going on. I know it's hard but it's worth it, I started counselling and haven't self harmed in over a month. It gets better but you need the right help... I hope this helps you in some way. Good luck :)

I feel the same way! >_< I hate it. I've noticed you if you just want someone to talk to about it.

You really don't have to make deeper scars to get noticed ! Maybe you should get counseling indeed or someone to talk about it. It is very difficult i know, but it worked for me, and i swear it is going to work for you. I talked about it with a friend of me and i didn't tried/did any form of self harm in 2 weeks. And if you never have anyone to talk to you can talk to me. I know it is hard talking to a stranger but i just hope i can help a person out of this.

Try getting involved with stuff you like, surround yourself by people who like the same things as you, when people are depressed they often forget not everyone is out to get them, when you feel the urge to cut yourself try going for a walk, or go for a run, hit a punching bag, write, draw, get new hobbies or volunteer, keeping yourself busy will keep your mind off things. The more you get out there, the more friends you're going to make, and you'll have new people to talk to and less time to feel sorry for yourself, but always remember, suicide doesn't get rid of the possibility of things getting worse, it gets rid of the possibility of things getting better. Everything will be fine, There is a whole world full of exciting possibilities. Stay strong
