Teenage Depression Mar 10 2014, 05:37 PM
So uhhh, yeahh, I'm back for about the fiftieth time since I originally joined. Guessing a lot of you won't remember me though D= But yeahh, I'm hoping to be back on here properly again now if real life allows :) but I need some help from you guys. I'm writing a play for my degree around the topic of teenage depression. I was originally diagnosed with depression as a teenager, but I don't want my play to just be an account of my life, and I know that several people on here either are suffering from depression or have done in the past. So basically, any of you who feel comfortable talking to me about your experiences with depression, please post to this topic or PM me if you'd rather keep it confidential. I'd like to know what triggered your depression, what triggers you find in everyday life, how you deal with your depression, if you've ever attempted suicide and what happened, and how you feel you are treated as a teenager with depression. If you're no longer a teenager but did suffer when you were younger (or still do), I'd also like to know if you feel you're treated any differently as an adult, and if you feel adult sufferers of depression are treated differently to teenage sufferers. Obviously these are highly sensitive issues, so if you'd like to answer some questions but not others of course that's fine, and again if you don't feel comfortable to talk about it at all then you don't have to. Thank you, and hopefully my next post will be on a slightly more positive topic!

Welcome back to SoEmo. We missed you :D I never suffered from depression when I was a kid. Got bullied now and again which was a pain in the backside but anyhow I can't really help you on your play. Anyway... Good to have you back.

I will! I have had it, and sometimes I still think I do. I'd be glad to help.
