okay, so i'm aware this band divides options especially in the metal world. BabyMetal is said to be a metal/eltro band fused with dance and performance (at the same time not just backing dancers) and the older adults play all the instruments other than clean lead vocals . It is also heavily produced and tuned with young singers/dancers... The singers are said to be influenced to form the band after seeing Metallica live when they did a show in Japan. Personally, i'm not 100% sure whether i even like this band or not (very split feelings towards it) but what are you're thoughts on this new styled band? is it normal Japanese styled fusion metal or is it completely different take entirely ?

nah, this is something completely weird even in Japanese standards >.< not sure if you know about the idol pop system but their manager wanted to combine that with metal. btw. have you heard "Iine" ? I think the screaming in that was BRUUUUTAL!!! LOL XD

I like it, but at the same time I really don't. I like the Japanese Idol part a lot, but I'm torn on the metal sound.

Generally I like it but there are a few annoying vocals.

The variety in their songs is refreshing and hopefully it will catch on and create more similar bands (be great in clubs). However I doubt anyone could pull it off better than the Japanese..

i have to agree it would suit clubs alot better than the commercial cd/download market here in the uk.. Still it is a very interesting concept and brings a fresh style of music into a otherwise lessening diverse genre (in my opinion that is ^)

It's something completely different. I used to live in Japan, and even by their standards, a lot of vkei followers don't really take them to be in the same genre. But I give them props for starting their careers young.

Only in Japan... When I first saw Babymetal, I just couldn't stop smiling. It was so wrong that it's right. Even though there are indeed a few weird vocals (mainly from the two back up singers), the show makes up for it. If they ever come to Holland, I'll be sure to check them out.

seems from the responses here, that they've invented a entirely new genre of their own, not just globally but also in the Japanese Rock/metal world too!

update : they are Finnish touring the Uk tonight in London (The Forum) and had a slot at too, so there seems to be attraction still. Now just a wait for the industry reviews(mags, radio etc) and see whether they will or wont last over here in the UK .. personally i'm still Not that keen on them.
