true friends? Jun 15 2014, 02:57 AM
So I'm 15 and it upsets me I actually don't have a true friend, All of them are unreliable/never there for me when I needed support. I used to think I had one true friend, but in recent events I realized she isn't. I don't get it? I haven't really made many friends at school either, I have nothing in common with them, none of them listen to my music or anything. Help

I was the same i had quite a few friends but then i realised they didn't like who i was and then i found a true friend who was closer than i thought and we like the sane things and tell each other a lot so my advice look for someone you wouldn't expect to find and be your true friend or look for people who have the same tastes as you

Hi there! It can be very difficult to find someone who has identical tastes to us, everyone is different and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But it can feel a bit lonely at times when we think were the only one who appreciates a certain thing. The main thing is to look for people who respect your difference and you respect theirs even if they don't share everything in common. So long as you have mutual respect in common you can celebrate each other's difference and maybe even introduce each other to your own interests! That makes for a diverse and exciting friendship that doesn't compromise how you feel for each other. It is very disappointing when were down and our friends don't come through for us, as they say that's when we find out who our true fiends are, and its not always the people we'd think we can rely on! But don't let it put you off looking for other friends, its quality not quantity and finding just one very special person who'll see you through thick and thin can make for a friendship that endures for a lifetime. ;)

You're very young. You might find better friends once you left your home town. Sometimes it takes a while until you find real good friends but then they will be your friends possibly forever.
