This topic will encompass some classic Emo bands and others related to the traditional sound. the idea of this topic is having a place to discuss Traditional emo, add to the list of bands or even request for bands that have a similar sound to some of the ones you enjoy from this. if you have ideas of how I may improve the topic don't hesitate to add suggestions or if you feel like covering any of the bands i'm sure we'd all be happy to hear them. List of bands with examples and if you'd like me to remove the video examples just say also note i'd like to extend this list as time goes on. Rites of spring (how can't you have a list of emo without them?) Embrace Moss icon Allure Antioch Arrow Glendale Merel Ordination of Aaron Still Life Closure Pg.99 Saetia Raein The Saddest Landscape City Of Caterpillar Suis La Lune I Would Set Myself On Fire For You Her Breath On Glass Funeral Diner Indian Summer Evergreen Iconoclast Portraits of Past Orchid Jawbreaker Circle takes the square(not all screamo but some songs are) Fugazi(this is mainly a post-hardcore band but why not?)

Depends how you define old school emo and the genre... I know some bands i've listed are 90's/ early -mid 2000's but they are what i consider "old school" and important in the genre (personal opion there) alongside the original 70's-80's punk/original forfarther bands of emo :) Mineral The early november Matchbook romance Our last night ( certainly their earlier stuff) Jimmy eat world Sunny day real estate Jawbreaker Fugazi Circle takes the square Abit controversial possibly but all have that old school vibe /oronce were at some point.. Story of the year A static lullaby Finch Thrice Dead by april 3 days grace Red jumpsuit apparatus Hell is for heros All that comes too mind at the moment ...if i can think of any more i'll post up the names/link :) N.B Old Gray (are a modern band very old school sound)
