Not every cut could be treated with a band aid, wounds heal.. But when all is gone, it leaves nothing but a scar. A dent to remind us of the pain we been through. Therefore, with my soul I beg, stop being so vague and open up your ears cause its meaningless for me to explain with your doors all shut. It isn't the relief we get when we smoke our lives away, it's the thoughts we dismissed upon the inhale of our cigarettes. We smoke to fill our empty hearts, dismantling every bit of emotion we ever felt, carefully breaking apart the walls we built as the only thing we trusted was nothing more than just that scent of tobacco. Tobacco wasn't an addiction, it was our life. It pieces the broken, building walls upon walls, cuddling us as it becomes the only way we sought for release. Exhales became inhales and inhales became exhales. We exchanged our freedom for our emotions, fixing the scars and healing the wounds. A long process we all thought might be, yet it seems it only took a while. You never understood, you underestimated. "Cigarettes brings you nothing but just harm". Whats worst than the harm you inflicted on me my friend? For times, you clinged onto me as if I was the only one, yet the others you threw me away like a broken rag. You insisted on our friendship, you demanded for my time, you refused to listen to my thoughts. So who was I to look for when everything was just all about you? Eventually, I turned away from the mess as I look beyond our friendship, and there my friend, its where I found my new best buddy, a nightmare to my health but a fantasy to my emotions. I had it and it had me. Giving it a spark and it simply made both of us contented as we drifted off deep into our thoughts, even deeper into life. And that my friend, was the power of a cigarette.
