If you wanna get out alive, whoa, run for your life. If i stay, it won't be long, til I'm burning on the inside. If I go, i can only hope, that I'll make it to the other side. Get Out Alive, by Three Days Grace

17 year old girl long distance relationship Aug 29 2015, 05:55 AM
Hi guys I'm new to the site I'm 17 and I was wondering if long distance relationships work? I haven't been in one and I would like to try it cause dating locally hasn't worked out for me and I want to know what's its like to be loved unconditionally by someone who thinks you're their world.

Hiya! It'll work out, if you and the other person is working for their relationship, fully depends on the couple. Msg me if you're interested :)

It's worked okay for me so far. I'm 17 and doing long distance and we've already met once and spent 3 weeks together at his place. We've been together a year so far. But to be honest there was this part of me that was just dying for it to end so I don't have to go through all this waiting just to see him again. So I went on a two week break. I thought having the freedom to date whoever I wanted within my area would be great (since I have the sex drive of a bunny), but deep down all I wanted was someone who could replace him, which was impossible. So we're talking again as if nothing has happened. Now he's going to try and land some gigs in my city with his band just so he can see me^^ To sum it up the worst part of long-distance has to be the lack of physical contact and the sense of longing. For me every day without him just seems to get longer. But you learn to cherish the more simple things like phone calls, Skype, messages and letters. But remember, you're 17. This likelihood of this person being your life partner are very narrow, so don't get too attached or else it'll only hurt even more if and when it ends.

As long as the physical contact thing is sorted and you both see each other irl enough, there's no reason why it can't work. Just don't forget that long distance takes a lot of work and effort, from both of you.
