Dress Sizes.. Nov 30 2015, 09:59 PM
Ok this may offend some people and sorry about that, but I'd like to rant a bit.. Something I do not get is why some girls that are generally lazy (and admit it) and make no effort to exercise moan about their dress size and weight. Build up some motivation, make some effort and try feel good about yourself =] I know if it's hereditary it obviously can be VERY difficult, but I feel more and more environmental factors are a major cause.

Cause everyone wishes to have the perfect body, and a lot of times motivation is just eh, then when they see that nothing is happening (especially if it's not quick) even with maybe a diet, they get even more eh, and it piles up on top of each other till you're like "ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

What you said can apply to both genders, just as equally! In health care we are taught its normally a 40/60 on the nature/nurture debate, related to weight. However women are naturally more prone to storing fat due to evolution however like anything it csn be controlled to a extent. Personally suffering from anorexia my out look on my own body can get twisted but i do also feel it is upto the person/individual as to what they want to weigh. However ott obesity (non genetic or medical condition/side effect related) is just plain lazy in my eyes. It takes both a mindful diet (not always healthy one mind you, your body dose need some sat fats etc to function well as long as they are in proportion to the rest of what you eat. Ie i mean if you know you eat take out food x4 per week try cutting it to 3 or swap to healthier options on the menu (that is what mindful dieting is)) and a decent amount of exercise per week (recommend uk adult is 1-2hrs min, last tome i looked at nhs guidelines anyway..) to keep a healthy weight. However as ive stated before im aware some people cannot do this for whatever reasons, but if its pure idleness then ..just why?? Look after you body and it will look after you and your mind :)

40/60 thing is interesting - thanks for sharing your opinions as well.

Np :) 40 nature / 60 nurture (enviromental factors) Some people say 50/50 or other variations but usally around the 40/60 mark, as far as i'm aware/researched for my coursework.

Gonna agree with Matt and Kate, if you can do something about it then you should make that change and not constantly complain about it. It's easy to take charge of your lifestyle and make some positive alterations. Im hoping to up my exercise to 3-4 hours a week at some point because the 1-2 hours I currently do doesn't feel like enough
