This forum topic is typically used to discuss romantic love and relationships… but we keep ignoring and forgetting the other form of love and relationships, the platonic love and relationships we have with our family and friends. So I thought this would be an interesting thread as people can talk about their family and everyone can help each other with any problems people are having 😊 So, what's your family like? Do you get on with them? Do you live with your family? If not, do you live nearby and how often do you visit?

-What's my family like? It's pretty much unpredictable at home. It can be... Alright. But then it can just kinda explode. But then it'll get 'better'. And then it'l explode again. My 'dad' (oh how I hate that word) controls everyyyything. He's selfish. Homophobic. Racist. I don't think crazy explains it well enough. I get along with my mother better than anyone else in my family - but I still wouldn't tell her any secrets(?). I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Theres constant arguing and fighting and yeah. I'm expected to be happy where I am because I get a lot of: "You're just over-exaggerating" or "There's people in worse situations." -Do I get on with them? Apart from my mother, no. -Do I live with my family? Unfortunately. I can't really move out yet.

Hmm, I know how you feel as I grew up in a similar household with a crazy parent… they eventually kicked me out in January of this year because I wanted to exercise my rights as a legal adult. And now I live 300 miles away from my family because I only get on with a select few. If you want to talk or vent, or even some advice about anything you can always PM me :)

I don't live with them - they are a 25 minute drive away. We get on ok though and I see them once a week.

Seth-scolex - things like going where I want, seeing who I want, dating who I want, travelling a little, drinking, working (the crazy parent hid my national insurance number from me so I couldn't get a job), moving out at some point, wanting to learn how to drive, getting a decent education (part of the reason I got kicked out is cos I said I eventually wanted to go to university) etc. They basically wanted to keep treating me like a 13 year old child and not an 18 year old adult who could legally do all these things without their permission. I talk to 2 of my sisters, my brother in-law, my brothers (on occasion) and my mum sometimes video chats, albeit often at awkward times such as in the middle of college because she doesn't realise I don't sit on my arse at home all day every day. But that's about it. Everyone else either don't want to know me, believe the lies and twisted half-truths some of the family has said about me or just generally piss me off so I don't want to talk to them

So, what's your family like? - Amazing! Best family I could've been born to, aside from my dad that is. Do you get on with them? - All of them... Aside from my dad. Do you live with your family? - Obviously. I'm still in high school, y'know. XD If not, do you live nearby and how often do you visit? - I live not far from my grandma, I'm about 2 hours away from my step-mum and her kids, about 2-3 hours for my aunt, and thousands of miles for my mum's uncle.

My mom's a photographer who works all the time, so it's almost like she's not there. My dad is overprotective and lacks common sense. My dad's side of the family is catholic, so everyone has like 50 kids. My mom's side has 5 people, me being the youngest, the oldest being 61. I don't like to bother with my dad's side. My friend ignores me and only uses me for emotional support. She's pretty annoying.

I live my life. I am bored. I am alone, cuz i want it. My family members want 2 c me, but i don't. I destroy friendships by leaving cities or my friends' company, without sending them a last message. I feel 2 tired 2 xplain anything. I talk 2 u guys n girls, but that can't my personality. That's what i say Total Darkness Inside. U can write anything u want about it. No problem. I don't want 2 make anyone feel sad. I wish all of u will be happy one day.

Short answer. Yes and no. We try but often we clash although I've found since not living with them things are better :)
