What are these lies That deny demise And cover the eyes of the ones I hold dear These scars that I bear And the cut of my hair And the lonely blank way that I tend to stare They tell me I’m wrong That I don’t belong So all I can do is drown in a song And with all the yelling And condescendant telling They’re losing the me they wish to be propelling So watch as the wall Gets built up tall And from once dry eyes steady tears now fall I wish they’d see What they’ve done to me That I’ll never fit their conformity
