im almost an adult; havent ever been able to dress or look the way i want. i will be going to uni/college in a while, and im considering finally taking the leap and expressing myself in terms of looks.
id like to get a couple piercings (not much honestly, just snakebites or septum), dye my hair bright colours + cut it to have fringe, etc.
however, people tell me that since im looking to get a job perhaps in international relations or something on the side of law later on in my life, i shouldn't express my style because it will cause people to not want to hire me or take me seriously.
is it true that i wont be able to find a good job if i look this way? i feel extremely torn, because i do want to make a living, but i also have been yearning to look the way i want for so many years.
have you ever been denied a job or not been taken seriously for simply looking the way you do?
